I went to the Brooklyn Flea Market on Sunday with some girlfriends. The forecast said it would rain, but I didn’t want to believe that to be true. Before I left to meet up with them, I looked out my window and thought “it looks clear, I see no clouds”. Sure enough when we all met up, it was starting to rain. Two of us were somewhat prepared, I was not one of them. Once we got into Brooklyn, I felt defeated and said “I need to hit a store and get an umbrella”, I knew with the rain my faux fur coat would soon become a sopping wet blanket. We went to the umbrella section and they were completely sold out ( humm I wonder why?) Then Allye suggested “how about a poncho? I’ll get one too!” I couldn’t bring myself to buy another umbrella, but a cheap $2.99 poncho would do.
This girl needs some rain gear, and stylish looking goods at that. Even though my last place of residence was Florida, I didn’t really have a need for rain gear. In Florida you drive everywhere, or you get valet parking so you don’t have to worry about getting wet. It’s funny I used my umbrella more for shielding myself from the sun, then from the rain. But, while living in the city I do lots of walking, use public transportation and have a need for rain goods, I am lusting these…..
