I went to a beautiful event last night, that featured the Koto Bolofo collaborative collection with Anthropologie. Koto has worked with Anthropologie, in the past photographing for the catalog. They reached out to him, on an art project, and he told them about some handmade garments he created from vintage linens he had discovered. Some of these linens, came from hospitals, convents, and homes of aristocrats to peasants. To Koto, these linens captured the dreams and forgotten memories of those that had slept in them.

The space was full of cherry blossoms, white flowy drapes, and Koto’s beautiful black and white photographs of his sister-in-law. Which is the subject in his new book “Dreams”.  In the space the collection was displayed. The garments feature details, such as lace, contrasted top stitching, wooden buttons, leather, and monograms that appear in the surprising locations. The collections will be in select Anthropologie stores.
